Why Fall In Love With Art?

                                              7 Reasons
  1.  Art makes you feel. Colours and textures makes a great difference. The feeling of hurt, emptiness, sadness, joy, lust, broken. It can even bring about a feeling of not feeling called art-induced.
  2. Art helps you realise you are not alone. An art work can be relatable universally. Perhaps the aliens could even relate as well. Everyone has a desire to get something, reminiscence, feel broken. When you feel, others will as well. No one is ever alone.
  3. Art is a freedom of expression. Afraid or unsure how to explain hurt, a child don't usually use words to express their emotions, they draw. When a child is being bullied, having family issues or even having a crush, they use their emotions to convey their feelings on a piece of paper.
  4. Art is being confident. Allowing people to know and understand you takes great courage. They can use your weakness against you. But once you have expressed yourself, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Those weaknesses you might have wont matter to you or anyone anymore because you have accepted the person you are.
  5. Art teaches problem solving. Making art teaches that there is more than one solution to the same problem. Art challenges our beliefs and encourages open-ended thinking that creates an environment of questions rather than answers.
  6. Art supports emotional intelligence. Art supports the expression of complex feelings that help people feel better about themselves and helps them understand others by seeing what they have expressed and created. Art supports personal meaning in life, discovering joy in one’s own self, often being surprised, and then eliciting it in others.
  7. Art improves holistic health. Art builds self-esteem, increases motivation, improves communications, nurtures teamwork, and strengthens our relationship to the environment.

Happy Vesak Day from LivingwithArt Singapore

Today we celebrate the birth of Buddha. It is celebrated differently in different countries of how they perceived Buddha based on their religion. Buddhists and followers alike are expected and requested to assemble in their various temples before dawn for the ceremonial, and honorable, hoisting of the Buddhist flag and the singing of hymns in praise of the holy triple gem: TheBuddha, The Dharma (his teachings), and The Sangha (his disciples).

See some more photos of Buddha below that Livingwithart Singapore handpicked for this holiday:
